J. Travis Mihelick of Giarmarco, Mullins, & Horton PC has received an “AV” Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, attaining the highest AV Preeminent rating. 

Mihelick focuses his practice in the area of defending municipalities, schools and other employers against a wide range of claims, including discrimination claims, labor and employment disputes, civil rights actions, police liability claims, negligence, intentional torts, and other general liability claims.  Mihelick has successfully represented his clients at all levels of litigation in both state and federal courts, including appellate courts.

Mihelick is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Eastern District of Michigan, the Western District of Michigan and the Northern District of Ohio.  

Mihelick graduated from Michigan State University, James Madison College. He received his law degree from Ave Maria School of Law.

In addition, John A. Anderson of Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, PC has been appointed to the inaugural Ascension Michigan Market Board of Trustees, effective July 1, 2015, for a 3-year term.   Anderson has also been appointed chair of the Ascension Michigan Market Quality and Patient Safety Committee.  Ascension operates 13 hospitals in Michigan. 

Anderson is the co-chair of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group representing health care providers ranging from large groups to individual physicians. He also represents Accountable Care Organizations, diagnostic providers, physical therapy providers, and home health agencies. He has experience as a business lawyer representing both middle-market clients and entrepreneurs, while a main focus of his practice is in health care law, primarily on the provider side.

Anderson also has experience working with business clients and banks, particularly in relation to loan workouts, forbearance agreements and foreclosures, as well as the civil and bankruptcy litigation related to such workout matters.
