Stephen H. Sinas, partner at Sinas Dramis Law Firm, was elected to the Board of the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council in September.
"Since 1987 the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council has served providers in professions related to brain injury through education, public policy and advocacy efforts," said Peggy Allen Bock, Executive Director, Business Development at Special Tree Rehabilitation System in Livonia and Board President for MBIPC. "Mr. Sinas brings to our organization a family legacy of volunteerism and commitment to our industry. We are very pleased to have him join our dedicated, hard working Board of Directors."
Sinas concentrates his practice in personal injury cases, auto no-fault insurance law, and constitutional rights cases. He joined the firm in 2007.
"Many of my clients are people who have suffered brain injuries in auto accidents," said Sinas. "I have deep respect for health care professionals and other service providers who help ensure the highest quality of life for people who have survived brain injury, and I am honored to support them with my service on the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council Board."
Each year since 2013, Sinas has been selected a "Michigan Super Lawyer" in the field Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law.
He and his colleague Tom Sinas each serve as associate general counsel for the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault (CPAN), with Sinas Dramis managing partner, George T. Sinas, serving as CPAN general counsel. The firm takes a strong interest in the rights of people with brain injuries with Tom Sinas also serving on the board of Brain Injury Association of Michigan.
Sinas has a passion for educating the public about their rights under the law. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Michigan State University College of Law, where he teaches a course on the Michigan Automobile No-Fault Insurance Law. Additionally, he serves as the statewide Chair of Michigan Association for Justice's "People's Law School."
He has been actively involved in a number of professional activities, including serving as a member of the State Bar of Michigan District E Character & Fitness Committee, a member of the Michigan Association for Justice Executive Committee, and a member of the Ingham County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Executive Board.
Sinas earned a B.A. in Economics and English literature from the University of Michigan in 2004 and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2007.
