Lt. Kyle Bowman, Commander of the Michigan State Police Jackson Post, will be the keynote presenter at the Martin Luther King Day Diversity Breakfast, 7:30 to 9 a.m, Friday, Jan. 15, hosted by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, with the Jackson County Intermediate School District, and City of Jackson Human Relations Commission.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet and greet over 400 community, business leaders and students who participated in Challenge Day 2015 while honoring area youth and celebrating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Bowman began his career with the MSP in 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement and a master’s degree in Leadership: Homeland Security from Siena Heights University. He completed the Homeland Security Executive Leaders and Fusion Leaders Program at the Naval Post Graduate School Center for Homeland Defense in Monterrey.
Bowman has served as MSP Jackson Post Commander since September of 2014, providing strategic leadership in investigations and community outreach, with a focus on serving and protecting citizens. The Jackson Post provides police services in Hillsdale and Jackson counties.
Previously Bowman was Director/Commander of the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center (MIOC) in Lansing; spent two years as the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisor; and has also served as an Assistant Post Commander for the MSP in Lansing. He spent six years as a Sergeant providing personal security for Michigan’s First Family; and taught for four years as Homeland Security Lead Faculty at Siena Heights University.
