LANSING (AP) — Twenty-two parcels of public land in Michigan will be offered for sale early next year.
The state Department of Natural Resources says a sealed-bid auction will run from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10.
Most of the land is in the eastern Upper Peninsula and the northern Lower Peninsula.
Properties range in size from less than an acre to 240 acres.
Officials say the parcels are isolated from other land managed by the DNR and provide little public recreation benefit.
Several are in forests and have river or lake frontage and are better suited for private ownership.
Of special interest are six parcels amounting to more than 680 acres in Arenac County’s Adams Township.
