As part of Black History Month, Wayne State University Law School’s Black Law Students Association and Bodman PLC presented the Annual African-American Judges Speaker Series on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the law school. Judges across multiple jurisdictions spoke about their experiences in the judiciary, offered advice to the students and explained their paths to the bench. Featured speakers were Judge Edward Ewell Jr., Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan; Judge Leonia Lloyd, 36th District Court of Michigan; Judge David A. Perkins, 36th District Court of Michigan; and Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Stafford, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Assistant Professor Blanche Cook moderated the discussion.
