The Jackson County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney hosted the annual Crime Victims’ Rights Tribute on April 12 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Jackson, during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The event include opening comments by Prosecuting Attorney Jerry Jarzynka, prayers by the Rev. Ron Brooks, music by The Praise Team, and a candle lighting in honor of loved ones.  Larry Mentink, whose son James was killed in 1989 when working a night shift at a Buddy’s Mini Mart, spoke about the Victims of Violent Crime Memorial in Cascade Falls Park, where this year’s ceremony will be held July 30.
