The Advisory Committee for the Oakland County Business Court gathered for a meeting last month to discuss issues facing the court, which was established in 2013 under provisions of a sweeping state law that arose from recommendations made by a Judicial Crossroads Task Force that the State Bar of Michigan created. Oakland County Circuit Court Judges Wendy Potts and James Alexander preside over the Business Court, which handles business and commercial cases where the amount at stake is more than $25,000 and includes matters where all the parties are “business enterprises.” Those on hand for the meeting included (front row, left to right) Keefe Brooks, Judge Wendy Potts, Judge James Alexander and Robert Carson, along with (back row) Marty Burnstein, Joe Papelian, Paul Nine, Kristyn Recchia, Sharon Woods, Rodger Young, Jennifer Grieco, Peter Alter, Tracy Allen, Doug Toering, Ed Pappas, Tom McNeill, Tom Van Dusen, Derek Howard, Julie Adams, Megan McGown and Marc Newman.
