Memorial service for Judge Thomassen set August 27
A memorial service for retired judge Pieter G. V. Thomassen, who died July 13 at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, Fla., at the age of 84, will be held 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, August 27, at the Ann Arbor Golf & Outing Club, 400 E. Stadium Blvd. in Ann Arbor.
Thomassen who earned his bachelor's and juris doctor degrees at the University of Michigan, served for 26 years as a district court judge in Ann Arbor. He was a member of the American Judges Association (Board of Governors), the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
