The State Bar of Michigan Appellate Practice Section will host its Annual Meeting and Educational Program on Thursday, Sept. 22 in conjunction with the SBM Annual Meeting at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.
The business meeting will take place from 1-1:45 p.m. and the educational program from 2-4 p.m.
The educational program will consist of a panel discussion, "Stay of Execution: Protecting the Client Pending Appeal.”
Panelists will include Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Elizabeth L. Gleicher.
They will tackle questions such as whether bias toward bonds is a mistake and how courts should decide what security (if any) is necessary.
There is no cost to attend.
