On Monday, Dec. 19, in Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Leo Bowman’s courtroom in Pontiac, the judge’s staff presented hats, gloves, and toys to Hannah Heebner (second from right), development manager at HAVEN Oakland County, in Bowman’s courtroom in Pontiac. Happy to present the items that they collected for HAVEN were Bowman staff members (l-r) Victoria King, Christol Loyd, and Alexa Schneider. “It’s an honor to serve our community both in the courtroom and through acts of service,” Loyd said. HAVEN’s mission is to eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence and to empower survivors through advocacy and social change in and around Oakland County. As the county’s only comprehensive program for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, HAVEN provides shelter, counseling, advocacy, and educational programming to nearly 20,000 people each year.
