Kotz Sangster welcomes Jordan C. Hoyer
Joining the Grand Rapids Office of Kotz Sangster is attorney Jordan C. Hoyer. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation and financial services litigation. She represents institutional investors, corporate entities, and individuals in state and federal courts across the country, FINRA arbitrations, and in mediation.
“Jordan possesses an excellent combination of courtroom skills and practical business experience,” said Kevin O’Dowd, Managing Partner, Grand Rapids. “We are delighted to have Jordan contribute to the growth of our Grand Rapids office.”
Hoyer routinely handles business litigation for clients, including trade secret misappropriation, non-competition / non-solicitation, and other business tort disputes. She has experience litigating trust disputes involving securitization trusts and including indenture trustee disputes. She has also represented professional athletes in contract negotiations and litigation with teams and sponsors.
A native of Grand Haven, Hoyer earned her law degree from WMU-Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She counts as her experience clerkships for Larry Nolan, current President of the State Bar of Michigan and a WMU-Cooley Trustee, and the late Jack Coté, one of the law school’s founding members. At Hope College, she earned a degree with a double major in political science and women’s studies. Hoyer is admitted to practice in Michigan and in both U.S. District Courts in the state.

Prior to joining Kotz Sangster, Hoyer managed the Midwest office of Talcott Franklin P.C., a Dallas-based law firm representing institutional investors in residential, mortgage-backed securities litigation nationwide.
Hoyer has served as a board member for the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding, Inc., in Rockford and Hoyer as a sponsor for the Bissell-ABG-Giant elite amateur cycling team and for the Michigan Ballet Company.
