The Michigan Inter-Professional Association (MIPA) recently hosted a luncheon roundtable on “Assisting the Potentially Incapacitated Client in Domestic Relations Matters” at Andiamo in Bloomfield Township. Taking part in the program were (left to right) attorney Marcia Ross of Marcia C. Ross PC, MIPA?President Carol Schwartz, Oakland County Probate Court Chief Judge Linda Hallmark and attorney Ryan Deel of Oakland County Probate Court. MIPA consists of lawyers, judges, mental health professionals and psychologists. “We look at family law and the various issues particularly surrounding child custody issues and child related issues,” noted Hallmark, who is the MIPA vice president. “At today’s program, we’re going to be talking about vulnerable individuals — whether they have a mental health issue, whether it’s an elderly person — and how the divorce lawyer copes with that kind of a proceeding; what they need to do both in terms of circuit and probate court proceedings,” Hallmark added.
