Rabia Chaudry, the attorney who introduced Adnan Syed’s case to the Serial podcast creator, spoke Friday, Feb. 3 at Wayne State University. More than 80 people attended the event hosted by Wayne State University Law School’s Muslim Law Students Association. It has also been viewed more than 2,000 times on Periscope.
In 2000, Syed was convicted of killing his former high school girlfriend, despite claiming his innocence. His story is at the center of the first season of Serial, a podcast that tells one true story over the course of a season. In addition, it’s the focus of the first season of the podcast Undisclosed, of which Chaudry is co-host and co-producer.
