“The Gavel Gap: How State Courts Fall Short on Diversity” was the title of a March 23 program sponsored by the American Constitution Society’s Detroit Mercy Law Student Chapter. Panelists at the event included: (l-r) Judge David Perkins of the 36th District Court; Terri-Lynn Dennings, former Macomb County Circuit Court candidate; Oakland County Circuit Judge Denise Langford Morris; and Paul Walton, chief assistant prosecutor for the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Serving as moderators at the program were attorney Tenisha Yancey, a UDM alum, and Roeiah Epps, a second year student at Detroit Mercy Law.
