Law Day open house held at courthouse

The U.S. District Court, the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Wolverine Bar Association jointly hosted a Law Day open house on Monday, May 1, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. The theme of Law Day 2017 was “The 14th Amendment, Transforming American Democracy.” On hand to welcome guests to the event were (left to right) John M. Sier of Kitch, Drutchas, Wagner, Valittuti, and Sherbrook; Susan Fairchild of the U.S. Attorney’s Office; Megan McGown Holms of Oakland County Circuit Court; Regina Goshorn of Crennan Goshorn Law; and Sherry D. Law Day offers an opportunity for the federal courthouse to open the doors for high school students to learn about what the federal courts do and get exposed to career opportunities in law enforcement and other federal agencies.
