Rhoades McKee welcomes summer associates
Rhoades McKee is pleased to announce that Jacob Walson and Dante Wen have joined the firm as summer associates. While at Rhoades McKee, they will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects in over 25 practice areas as well as observe hearings, client mediations and trials.
Walson currently attends University of Illinois College of Law with an expected graduation date of May 2018. Prior to joining Rhoades McKee, he worked as a legal extern for Judge Christopher Yates at the Kent County Business Court. He earned his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University.
Wen currently attends Michigan State University College of Law with an expected graduation date of May 2019. Prior to joining Rhoades McKee, he worked as a legal assistant for Weltman, Weinberg & Reis in Ohio.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
Judge Carmody appointed to Michigan Tribal State Federal Judicial Forum
In ADM File No. 2017-01, the Michigan Supreme Court made appointments to the Michigan Tribal State Federal Judicial Forum as follows:
“On order of the Court, effective July 1, 2017, the following members of the Michigan Tribal State Federal Judicial Forum are reappointed to terms ending July 1, 2020:
Justice Michael F. Cavanagh (retired), Michigan Supreme Court
Hon. Timothy P. Connors, 22nd Circuit Court Family Division
Hon. William T. Ervin, Isabella County Probate Court, 21st Circuit Court Family Division
Hon. Timothy P. Greeley, U.S. District Court, Marquette
Hon. Cheryl L. Hill, Marquette County Probate Court, 25th Circuit Court Family Division
Hon. James P. Lambros, Chippewa County Courts, 50th Circuit Court Family Division
On further order of the Court, effective July 1, 2017, the Honorable W. Clayton Graham (Mackinac/Luce County Probate Court) and the Honorable Ellen S. Carmody (U.S. District Court, Grand Rapids) are appointed to terms ending July 1, 2020.”
The purpose of the Michigan Tribal State Federal Judicial Forum is to create an ongoing dialogue and respond to joint and cross jurisdictional issues among state, tribal, and federal judiciaries regarding working relationships and the interaction of state, tribal, and federal court jurisdiction in Michigan. The Forum shall make recommendations and implement philosophies, practices, and procedures to enhance our common responsibility to our children, our families and our communities of our sovereign nations.
