Joe Sadler joins Kotz Sangster in Grand Rapids

Kotz Sangster is pleased to announce the recent addition of attorney Joe Sadler to the firm. He joins the Grand Rapids office as a partner. Sadler, formerly a partner at Warner, Norcross & Judd, has a broad commercial litigation, insurance, and trademark practice, representing clients such as Whirlpool Corporation and Coach, Inc. He has handled insurance coverage disputes for Alticor/Amway and counseled various clients on insurance procurement and risk management issues. He has also handled privacy, defamation, and anti-harassment litigation on behalf of individual and corporate clients with great success.

“Joe brings a depth of insurance industry and corporate litigation knowledge and experience, and will play a key role in our continuing growth in western Michigan,” said Kevin O’Dowd, managing partner of Kotz Sangster’s Grand Rapids office.

Sadler moved to Grand Rapids from Chicago, where he litigated commercial, products liability and insurance coverage cases. A Chicagoland native, he earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2002 and received his B.A., cum laude, from Indiana University – Bloomington in 1998. He is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and the State of Illinois.

“I am thrilled to be part of Kotz Sangster’s growth in West Michigan. For my entire career, I have worked at large firms built by other lawyers long ago. This move allows me to be part of a growing office, shaping its direction for the future, which is exciting. In the past nine years, I learned that nothing was more important than providing great client service. I look forward to offering that same great service at my new professional home, Kotz Sangster.”

Kotz Sangste, based in Detroit, has more than 35 attorneys in offices in Grand Rapids, Niles, South Haven and St. Joseph, as well as in Bloomfield Hills and Detroit. More at kotzsangster.com.
