Former 51st District Court Judge Jodi Debbrecht Switalski was the featured speaker at a June 6 meeting on the Detroit area’s growing opioid-abuse crisis. The program took place at The Stand Bistro in Birmingham and was part of the annual Tech Crawl automotive business and technology forum. A nationally known authority on substance abuse, Switalski recently was named to head a team of attorneys specializing in opioid-abuse issues at the Michigan law firm of Lippet O’Keefe Gornbein in Birmingham. Before being appointed to the District Court bench in Waterford, Switalski was an assistant prosecuting attorney in Macomb County.
