Brooks Kushman, an intellectual property (IP) and technology law firm, has been selected as a 2017 Corporate Partner of the Year by the Judson Center, known for its mission to strengthen children, adults and families impacted by abuse, neglect, autism and other mental health challenges.
The honor was bestowed on Brooks Kushman at the Judson Center’s annual Community of Caring Summer Solstice event on June 22.
The volunteer efforts of Brooks Kushman’s Stephanie Mansfield and Sandy Davis were hailed by Judson Center leaders at the gathering held at its Royal Oak campus. Mansfield and Davis were instrumental in galvanizing Brooks Kushman team members’ participation in the Chemical Bank Detroit Free Press Marathon and the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) to benefit Judson Center. Brooks Kushman has raised more than $100,000 for Judson Center since 2008.
“We are grateful to be recognized and honored to do our part for such an impactful organization as Judson Center,” said Mark Cantor, president of Brooks Kushman. “I am especially proud of the work Stephanie Mansfield and Sandy Davis did on behalf of the firm to help Judson Center in its ongoing mission.”
Mansfield, a 20-year veteran of the firm who specializes in patent prosecution, has organized team members for the last 10 years to be part of the Brooks Kushman Team Autism group that participated in Detroit Marathon events and raised money for Judson Center and its Autism Connections program. Davis, meanwhile, led the firm’s work during the 2016 and 2017 auto shows in Detroit.
“Sandy and I are humbled with being recognized by Judson Center on behalf of Brooks Kushman,” said Mansfield. “Brooks Kushman’s commitment to serving the community is something that we all value. We look forward to continuing to help Judson Center and the many other philanthropic and service organizations with which the firm is involved.”
