Michigan Super Lawyers names Barnes & Thornburg attorneys to annual lists
Four attorneys from Barnes & Thornburg’s Michigan office, which is located in Grand Rapids, have been recognized on the Michigan Super Lawyers 2017 and Michigan Rising Stars 2017 lists.
The Michigan attorneys who made this year’s Super Lawyers list, and their primary practice areas as identified by Super Lawyers, are: Charles M. Denton – Environmental Litigation, Insurance Coverage, Alternative Dispute Resolution; Tammy L. Helminski – Environmental, Environmental Litigation; and Robert W. Sikkel – Employment & Labor.
Joseph D. Hess was named a Rising Star in Employment & Labor: Employers; Business Litigation
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multiphased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.
Honigman’s Kalamazoo office to move
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP announces it will move its Kalamazoo office to 650 Trade Centre Way, the third of the Trade Centre office buildings. As the building’s first tenant, Honigman will support the continued growth of its expanding practices, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, life sciences, intellectual property, litigation and real estate.
Trade Centre Way is situated along the I-94 corridor at South Westnedge where several of West Michigan’s leading businesses are located. Honigman will occupy the second floor as of March 1, 2018.

This transaction, which was largely executed from our Kalamazoo office, represents the sophisticated work that Phil Torrence, Jonathan O’Brien and our team of experienced lawyers handle for major Kalamazoo-based clients as well as clients across the U. Since opening 2008, the office has grown and now has 26 attorneys and 55 professionals making it the largest law firm office in Kalamazoo.
