Savoring a softball league championship

The Madison's Mt. Clemens Lawyers Softball League concluded its eighth season with a hard-fought championship game. The opponents were a team sponsored by Three Blind Mice Irish Pub and managed by Amber Cervantez of Hewson & Van Hellemont, P.C and a squad sponsored by Orleans Sports Cafe, managed by Charles Trickey III of Trickey Law PLLC.

The battle was won by the Orleans team on a walk-off two-run single by Charles McKinnon. Macomb County Bar Association President Karen Trickey Pappas is pictured presenting the championship trophy to Trickey.

Other members of the team enjoying the victory celebration are David Dyki, Adam Latra, Justin Thomas, Robert Palmer, Michael Dzubek, Scott Legarski, Charles Mckinnon, David March, Anthony Nardone, Jeffrey Davis, Christopher Rickard, James Andary II, Mark Sisson and Cindy Burlingame. Other teams in the league are sponsored by Bath City Bistro, managed by Erich Goetz of J. Erich Goetz, P.C., The Rec Bowl, managed by Derek Brackon of the Mike Morse Law Firm, Gus' Coney Island, managed by Larry Vande Vrede of Vande Vrede & Lavigne, P.C. and Little Lorraine's, managed by Daniel DeBruin of the Macomb County Prosecutors Office.

The league is always looking for new attorneys, law school grads or law school students to participate; those interested in playing should contact either of the co-commissioners, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Mark Switalski or Charles Trickey.
