Students combine forces to feed those in need

Students from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and Avondale High School teamed up to provide Thanksgiving meals to 100 needy families in the Auburn Hills area. Each year, as part of the law school’s “Making Meals Happen” program, students collect potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, cornbread mix and gift cards for turkeys. Over the last nine years, students have donated over 1,500 meals to those in the community who might not otherwise be able to afford a Thanksgiving meal. “It’s a great feeling seeing students take time to help others,” said Prof. Martha Moore, who has been involved with the ‘Making Meals Program’ since its beginning.
