The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Washtenaw Region held its annual holiday gathering on Dec. 14. Kym London (left) presented the Mary Foster Award to Elizabeth Kitchen-Troop while WLAM Washtenaw President Patricia Reiser looked on. The first woman lawyer in Ann Arbor, Foster entered law school at age 49, and graduated with high honors from the University of Michigan Law School in 1876. The award is bestowed annually to a member of WLAM Washtenaw Region whose leadership, talent, and significant contributions to women provide a role model for women in the profession and women in general.
