Favorite local hangouts? At home with my family

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? The best compliments I ever receive are from satisfied clients who appreciate the hard work and effort we put into their cases. Sometimes the gratitude is as important as the check in what we do.

When you were considering law school, what was Plan B? I planned on being a teacher but couldn’t take the requisite shadowing and student teaching classes in college because of athletics. When I looked into completing my teaching certificate after graduating they said it would take three years. A week later, I scheduled the LSAT and never looked back.

What would surprise people about your job? I am constantly analyzing cases to develop more efficient and effective strategies for clients. It’s not unusual for me to wake up at 5 a.m. with a brainstorm about a case I am working on and start taking notes. People often don’t believe that attorneys actually do some of the things portrayed in movies, but a lot of us are very competitive and that drives us to seek out advantages anywhere we can.
What do you wish someone would invent? Christmas lights that don’t get tangled up into a giant ball every year.

When you look back into the past, what do you miss most? I miss my stepfather who was killed by a drunk driver.

What is your most typical mood? I’m mostly about as laid back and easy going as it gets.

What were you doing in your last selfie? Posing with my three kids.

What question do you most often ask yourself? How do I improve that? Whatever it is, I’m always looking for ways to make incremental improvements in everything I do every day.

If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would that be? I wouldn’t trade places with anyone, ever, for any reason. I love my life and all the good and bad that happens in it is part of where I am today.

What word do you overuse? I literally use the word “literally” every day.

What is one thing you would like to learn to do? Undoubtedly, I need to learn to speak a foreign language.

What is the best advice you ever received? Don’t make excuses; own mistakes; correct or improve them; move on and don’t look back.
