'Basic Training for Every Business Lawyer' offered Jan. 29-30

The Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present “Business Boot Camp II, Basic Training for Every Business Lawyer” on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 29-30, at the Inn at St. John’s located at 44045 Five Mile Rd. in Plymouth.

Business practice is varied and complex. Success requires broad knowledge, the right tools, and knowing the right people.  In just two days, attendees will receive grounding in nine key areas of business practice with guidance from the leaders who handle them every day.

The directors of training are Jeffrey S. Ammon of Miller Johnson, Timothy R. Damschroder of Bodman PLC, and Daniel H. Minkus of Clark Hill PLC.

Day One of the program will feature:
• Registration and continental breakfast.
• “Stock Options and Other Equity-Based Compensation” with Justin Klimko, Butzel Long PC.
• “Select M & A -Negotiated Acquisitions (Part One)” with Timothy R. Damschroder, Bodman PLC, and Dustin Daniels, Miller Johnson.
• Lunch (to be provided onsite).
• “Personal Property/Article 9/Creditors Rights” with Lisa Sommers Gretchko, Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC
• “Non-Profit Organizations” with Jennifer Oertel, Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer, & Weiss PC.

Day Two of the program will feature:

• “Select M & A-Negotiated Acquisitions (Part Two)” with Eric I. Lark, Kerr, Russell, & Weber PLC, and Daniel H. Minkus, Clark Hill PLC.
• “Intellectual Property” with Susan Kornfield, Bodman PLC.
• Lunch (to be provided onsite).
• “Understanding Financial Statements” with Robert Kendall, UHY LLP.
