International trade law experts will gather at Wayne State Universty Law School in Detroit on Monday, Jan. 29 to discuss the Trump administration’s wide-ranging proposals to revise NAFTA, many of which have been rejected by Canada and Mexico.
The event, “The Future of NAFTA: Renegotiation, Termination or more of the same?” is free and open to the public. It is scheduled from 12:15-1:30 p.m. in the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium at the law school, 471 W. Palmer.
The Trump administration has made renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement one of its foreign policy priorities, with the next round of discussions taking place Jan. 23-28.
This panel will discuss the proposals, their likelihood of success and what might happen if the United States withdraws from NAFTA.
Speakers include:
• Prof. Charles Brower, Wayne State University Law School
• Prof. Emerita Maureen Irish, University of Windsor Faculty of Law
• Bruce Thelen, member, Dickinson Wright
