The Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) hosted a lunch meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Skyline Club in Southfield. During the lunch, guest speaker Steven Underwood (left) of Price Heneveld LLP discussed “The Untimely Death of IPR.” “I’m going to be talking today about the pending Supreme Court case Oil States v Green and what impact it might have on the existing practice within the Patent and Trademark Office called Inter Partes Review, particularly whether or not that practice is constitutional under Article 3 under the Seventh Amendment,” Underwood said. Thanking Underwood for addressing the meeting was MIPLA President Daniel E. Hegner (right) of Bejin Bieneman PLC.
