SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — Aluminum, cardboard, plastic and glass weren't the only recycled goods passing by on the conveyor belts at the Waste Management facility in Surprise.
12 News (KPNX-TV) reported Wednesday that a 6-foot pet python went for a ride through the site before finally being captured.
District manager Al Gallagher, who was in his office when a call about the reptile went out over the radio, says an employee managed to pick up the snake and put it in a box.
Witnesses say the snake was very passive by the time it reached the end of its journey.
The python is now at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
