Law student awarded scholarship from Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan
Rising third-year Wayne State University Law School student Brant Losinski was awarded the Judge Philip J. Glennie Law Student Scholarship from the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan (CFNEM).
This scholarship is awarded to graduates of a high school in Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency and Presque Isle County. Losinski was honored at a luncheon on Friday, June 15, in Alpena.
Losinski of Alpena is the chairman of the Wayne Law ACLU chapter and the newly appointed president of the Law School’s Environmental Law Society.
The Philip J. Glennie Law Student Scholarship honors Glennie, who served the 26th Judicial Circuit for a quarter-century. Glennie was known for his leadership and civic engagement in Alpena and was instrumental in establishing CFNEM in 1974.
Losinski is an extern in the legal department of the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Lab of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Ann Arbor. He earned his bachelor’s from the University of Michigan.
Hamameh elected to SBM Board of Commissioners
Foster Swift attorney Lisa J. Hamameh is one of five attorneys elected to serve on the 2018-19 State Bar of Michigan’s (SBM) Board of Commissioners. The SBM Board of Commissioners provides oversight to the State Bar on finance, public policy, professional standards and member services and communications.
Hamameh was elected to serve District I, representing Oakland County and will serve a 3-year term starting late September 2018 after the SBM Annual Conference.
A graduate of Wayne State University Law School, Hamameh practices primarily public entity law, zoning and land use, liquor licensing law and condominium and homeowners' association law.
Hamameh’s term as chair of the SBM Character and Fitness District I Committee concludes in December of this year and she previously served on the SBM Young Lawyers Section Executive Council.
