The judicial investiture ceremony for Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Anica Letica took place Sept. 12 at Laurel Manor in Livonia. A resident of Plymouth, Letica was appointed to the appellate bench by Gov. Rick Snyder in June, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Michael Talbot. Letica has been with the Michigan Department of Attorney General since 2009 where she handled appellate matters for the Criminal Division and for local prosecutors across the state. Prior to that she worked in the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office after starting her career as a law clerk at the Michigan Court of Appeals. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1982 and received her law degree from Wayne State University in 1985. Pictured with retired Court of Appeals Judge Henry Saad (left) and Chief Judge Christopher Murray of the Court of Appeals, Letica must seek election in 2020 for a six-year term. Murray was a featured speaker at the event along with state Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Clement and retired Supreme Court Justice Maura Corrigan.
