Access to Bankruptcy Court (ABC) hosted its annual charity networking and silent auction at the offices of Wolfson Bolton PLLC in Troy on Thursday, Oct. 18. Among those attending and lending their support were (l-r) Sandy Wexler, Cynthia Person, Alesia Dobbins, Lauren Rousseau, Jim Plemmons, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Marci McIvor, Anthony Kochis, Tracy Clark, Paul Hage, Karen Evangelista, Janet Ziulkowski, Andrea Cartwright, and Judy Calton. Without the generous sponsorships and donations provided by the community during this event, ABC would not be able to continue in its efforts to help those
living in poverty. ABC is a non-profit organization designed to help eligible area residents, who cannot afford an attorney, navigate through the complex bankruptcy system. The attorney handles the bankruptcy case pro bono or receives a reduced flat fee after the debtor is discharged of his or her debts. ABC has also collaborated with WMU-Cooley Law School to partner attorneys with law students to handle bankruptcy cases under the program.
