The traditional Saturday-after-Thanksgiving tree lighting tradition in downtown Muskegon’s Hackley Park offered something different this year: a new artificial, cone-shaped tree.
As every year, Santa visited with the missus; and there were caroling, entertainment and refreshments supplied by the Salvation Army as they kicked off their “red bucket” campaign.

Also, Barnes and Noble will offer a Dec. 7 (7:00 p.m.) Polar Express story time with free hot chocolate and a cookie – kids wearing cozy pajamas is encouraged – and live reindeer at Hackley Public Library on Dec. 15 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
