The BPW (Business and Professional Women) held its State Board Meeting on Nov. 3 at the Quality Inn in West Branch, when awards were presented at the evening banquet.
Mary Steinmetz, circulation manager for Detroit Legal News Publishing LLC, was honored as a “Shining Star” and with the 2018 Person of Achievement award, given each year by Jackson BPW based on recognition of accomplishments, outstanding dedication to BPW and enthusiastic willingness to help other people, and contribution to the community and BPW. In addition to her individual award, Steinmetz has the traveling award—past honorees include Frank Weir, former editor of the Washtenaw, Ingham and Jackon editions of the Legal News.
