The Accidentals, a white-hot national band with roots in Michigan, wowed the Frauenthal with their show “The Accidentals and Friends” on December 8, complete with a lot of ugly Christmas sweaters.
And, as evidenced by the bottom photo, there were many friends - under normal circumstances, the band is a trio.
Sav (Savannah) Buist, shown at right top, and Katie Larson met in Traverse City in high school, and Michael Dause of Novi joined later as their percussionist.
The Accidentals’ music style is difficult to pin down. PopMatters Magazine noted they are like “The Beatles, The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Ani Difranco, Neko Case, Brandi Carlile, etc.”
