Snyder names Wanda Stokes to 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County


Gov. Rick Snyder on Friday appointed Wanda Stokes, of Okemos, to the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County.

“As a lawyer in private practice, as a Michigan Assistant Attorney General, and as a member of my cabinet, Wanda has exhibited integrity, a keen knowledge of the law and high ethical standards,” Snyder said.

Stokes is the Director of the Talent Investment Agency. She previously served in the Office of General Counsel at Ford Motor Company; as an attorney with Fieger, Fieger, Kenney & Johnson; as a Michigan Assistant Attorney General, and as a deputy director in the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

Stokes earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 1980 and a law degree from University of Detroit Mercy in 1986.

Stokes fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William E. Collette. She must seek election in November 2020 for a full term.

 

Snyder names Annemarie Lepore to 41-A District Court in City of Sterling Heights
 

Gov. Rick Snyder Friday appointed Annemarie Lepore, of Shelby Township, to the 41-A District Court in the City of Sterling Heights.

“Annemarie has an excellent reputation among her peers,” Snyder said. “I am confident she will serve the community with distinction.”

Lepore is a 2005 undergraduate of Oakland University and a 2008 graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy Law School. Since 2009, she has worked for Aloia & Associates where she handles civil litigation and municipal law, among other practice areas. She currently serves as the firm’s domestic litigation and criminal practice manager. Since January 2017, she has served as assistant general counsel to the Macomb County Department of Public Works.

Lepore is the president of the Women Lawyers of Michigan-Macomb Region, and she is on the board of directors for the Macomb County Bar Association and the Macomb County Bar Foundation. She is an organizer of the Macomb Charitable Foundation, and also volunteers for the American Cancer Society and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Michigan Chapter.

Lepore fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Michael Maceroni. She must seek election in November 2020 for a full term.
