Firm raises funds for Ronald McDonald House

Among those helping organize the charity breakfast were (left to right) Cheryl Buck, Teresa Guarascio, Theresa Berge, Paula Proffitt, Stephanie Martinez, Kathleen Klish and Emilee Neumann.

Members of Clark Hill’s Detroit office hosted a Big Heart charity breakfast last month, with several volunteers cooked breakfast for the office to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.

Participants donated to the cause in order to receive breakfast and created handmade cards for the families and children at the Ronald McDonald House.

The cards will be placed inside toiletry-filled bags, which are given to families upon check-in to the House, to transport their belongings to and from the hospital.

The charity event collected $700.

Mari Hutchinson, office manager of the firm’s Detroit office, was pleased with the total amount of donations.

“Our team in Detroit is committed to giving back to our community in 2019,” she said. “We are so honored to be able to support the children and families serviced by the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.

“We are proud of the work that the house does to help families with sick children from our community find comfort and support when they need it most.”

A Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.

At every house, families can enjoy home-cooked meals, private bedrooms and playrooms for children. RMHC Detroit opened in 1979, becoming the 11th location to open.

There are now more than 300 RMHC locations around the world.
