Attorney Brent R. Scott Joins Bodman PLC
Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that Brent R. Scott has joined the firm as an associate attorney in the Workplace Law Practice Group in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.
Scott concentrates his practice on advising and representing companies in all aspects of employment, labor, and general business law matters across multiple industries. Scott has litigated an array of employment matters in state and federal courts throughout Michigan at both the trial and appellate levels in areas involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, Michigan’s Whistleblower Protection Act, and wrongful discharge. This representation has resulted in dispositive relief and favorable settlements for many clients.
Before joining Bodman, he worked for an Oakland County litigation defense firm where he represented corporations, insurers, and municipalities in cases involving civil rights, employment issues, police liability, construction site injuries, automobile negligence, premises liability, commercial disputes, contractual claims, and insurance coverage. Early in his career, Scott clerked for the Michigan Attorney General’s Office in the Corrections Division, defending Department of Corrections employees named as defendants in civil rights law suits.
Scott is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Labor and Employment, Litigation, Negligence, and Young Lawyers sections) and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law and earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University.
In addition to its Grand Rapids office, Bodman PLC has locations in Ann Arbor, Cheboygan, Detroit, and Troy. Deeply rooted in the communities they serve, Bodman lawyers provide clients with the personal attention of a small firm combined with the talent and knowledge expected of the nation's leading attorneys.
