The Oakland County Bar Association’s Business Court and Counsel Committee along with the Debtor/Creditor Committee recently hosted the annual Business Court Staff Appreciation Luncheon at CJ’s Upper Deck in Waterford. Among those enjoying the lunch were (left to right) Joe Grekin of Schafer & Weiner PLLC, Oakland County Circuit Court Judges Martha Anderson and James Alexander, and OCBA President Jim Parks of Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss PC. The Business Court began in June 2013. Its purpose is to establish the best practices for the resolution of business cases; to improve the efficiency of the courts and to utilize technology in managing business court cases; and to enhance the accuracy, consistency and predictability of decisions in business and commercial cases.
