Ian M. Harrier has joined the Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group of Warner, Norcross, & Judd LLP as an associate.
Harrier concentrates his practice in intellectual property law with a focus on patent procurement, portfolio management and opinion work. A chemist by training, Harrier has spent the past three years working at Warner as a patent specialist while attending law school. Harrier practiced primarily in the firm's growing chemical patent group on a variety of IP and patent matters across a range of technologies, including specialized-performance polymers, commodity chemicals, paints and coatings, industrial and automotive fasteners, personal and home care products, sporting goods and biomedical compositions. He will continue to practice in the firm's Southfield office.
Prior to joining Warner, Harrier worked for nearly three years at Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, where he drafted and prepared patent applications and opinions on chemical and mechanical technologies.
A homeschooler, Harrier enrolled at Alma College at age 15, where he earned his bachelor of science in chemistry before pursuing graduate education and earning his master's degree in chemistry at the University of Notre Dame. Harrier received his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit (JFS) is pleased to announce the election of Julie Teicher as its new chairperson of its Board of Directors. First elected to the JFS Board in 2012, Teicher has held various offices, from the agency's treasurer and chair of its Finance and Audit Committees to its vice chairperson and chair of its Leadership Committee. Teicher will chair an active board, of 36 members, which provides oversight to the organization.
Teicher is a shareholder in Maddin, Hauser, Roth, & Heller's Creditor's Rights, Bankruptcy and Insolvency Practice Group as well as the firm's Financial Services and Real Property Litigation Group. A certified bankruptcy court mediator, Teicher has been an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law at various times since 2006. In 2019, she was inducted as a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.

Stephen A. Bromberg is counsel to Butzel Long and based in the firm's Bloomfield Hills office. He served as a Director and President of Butzel Long.
