The Macomb County Bar association Juvenile Law Committee recently hosted a seminar to explore issues surrounding juvenile guardianships. Among those taking part in the presentation were (left to right): Jillian Jackson, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) juvenile court Liaison; Michelle Walter, DHHS children’s protective services worker; Linda Harrison, chief referee with Macomb County Circuit Court; and attorneys Mayssa Attia and Michael Gibbs. Speakers discussed such matters as subsidized juvenile guardianships and guardian ad litems as well as how to write GAL reports and the role of the Michigan Children’s Institute in the child welfare system.
