Jeanne Frazee has been a solo practitioner for 30 years, with a practice devoted almost exclusively to family law matters. Her office is located in Livonia, she practices regularly in Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw and Macomb counties, and was recently named a ‘Super Lawyer.’
Frazee graduated from the University of Michigan at Dearborn with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, and obtained her J.D. from Wayne State University.
Frazee has volunteered extensively in the past for the Michigan Humane Society, helping to organizing other volunteers for various fundraising events and activities. When not working, she likes to travel and also enjoys checking out new places in and around Detroit.

What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? Winning a custody trial when my opposing counsel had loudly announced to his client at the outset that there was “no way” my client and I would win. That victory was very satisfying!
When you were considering law school, what was Plan B? Probably accounting, as that was my undergraduate degree. I knew I didn’t want to spend all my time in an office, though.
What was always written on your grade school report card? It varied between “a pleasure to have in class” and “chatty.” I was always getting moved around the classroom, away from friends, because I talked too much.
Favorite websites: Google. I love that the ability exists to look up literally any obscure thing.
What do most people not know about you? I took several years of improv classes at Second City (when it was in Detroit). Keegan-Michael Key was my first instructor.
What would surprise people about your job? How many details there are to keep track of in every case.
What do you wish someone would invent? Time travel.
Favorite stamp on your passport: Recently, London; in the past, Australia and New Zealand.
When you look into the past, what do you miss most? My parents and grandparents.
What historical event would you like to have witnessed? I was very young when the moon landing happened in 1969. I wish I’d been older so I could have paid more attention while it was happening.
What were you doing in your last selfie? Posing with friends up in the mountains on a trip to Whistler, B.C.
Can you think of a failure that ultimately became a positive? Not getting hired by a certain law firm right out of law school. It would have given me little to no opportunity to be in court. I’m grateful that I’ve been able to work on my own and spend time litigating in court.
What is one thing you would like to learn to do? Stand up paddle boarding.
What is the best advice you ever received? “The best you can do is all you can do.”
What are you looking forward to? Being a maid of honor in a wedding up north this fall.
