Michigan attorney Terrence J.L. Reeves will lead Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) new Ann Arbor office. Reeves joins FBT from Pepper Hamilton’s Detroit office. He will work with FBT’s startup, emerging company, and venture capital fund clients. Reeves brings experience advising tech and tech-enabled companies located in Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Illinois, Michigan, and California. Those businesses focus on various sectors, including digital health, consumer products, enterprise software, and mobility.
Reeves previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan where he led the Financial Crimes Task Force. He recently completed his term on the board of directors of the Michigan Strategic Fund, which oversees the state’s funding for economic development. Reeves currently serves as President of the Wolverine Bar Association.
In addition to Reeves, FBT Senior Associate John Gaviglio, a member of the firm’s Automotive Industry Team and Senior Associate Brittany L. Bradshaw will also join the office. Gaviglio’s practice includes serving one of the world’s top automotive manufacturers in areas of research and development, and intellectual property. Like Reeves, Bradshaw also comes from Pepper Hamilton where she worked in the Corporate and Securities, Emerging Growth and Automotive Practice Groups.
“Frost Brown Todd has deep roots in the automotive industry. Expanding our services into the northern edge of ‘Auto Alley’ allows the firm to better serve our existing clients,” said FBT Chairman Robert V. Sartin.
“Bringing together an experienced veteran venture capital attorney like Terrence with our mobility and transportation, manufacturing, technology and health care industry teams will provide a comprehensive understanding of the most prevalent trades in the region to future clients. We look forward to offering those resources to the rapidly growing businesses in and around Ann Arbor.”
“It’s an exciting time in the region as the work of entrepreneurs, investors, universities, and partner organizations has again solidified the area’s position as a hub for innovation,” said Reeves. “We look forward to contributing to the next chapter of that story by leveraging FBT’s core competencies to provide differentiated services and resources to our clients. We’ll immediately build a local team of health care, intellectual property, and privacy and data security attorneys to complement our deep bench of talent in the firm’s existing markets.”
FBT’s Ann Arbor expansion comes at the same time the firm celebrates the 100th anniversary of its legacy firm Frost & Jacobs which opened in 1919 in Cincinnati. Since then, the AmLaw 200 firm has grown to 13 markets in nine states. FBT’s mid-American foundation gives it the unique ability to understand and provide for the most critical issues facing business in the region.
