Long time Foster Swift Attorney Frank H. Reynolds received the Thomas E. Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ingham County Bar Association’s (ICBA) Annual Dinner on November 14.
The Thomas E. Brennan Award is given to lawyers who have made a significant and longstanding contribution to the advancement or improvement of the justice system and the betterment of the legal profession in the State of Michigan, while also having attained professional excellence as demonstrated by accomplishments in the law or service to the profession during his or her career.
The Lifetime Achievement Award may be given in any one year. However, the award is given only in those years when it is determined that an exceptionally worthy recipient has been nominated.
Frank received his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and a Master of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. During his 30-plus year legal career, his practice focused on state and federal criminal defense and professional licensing cases. Reynolds successfully defended many high profile cases in Ingham County and throughout Michigan. Over the course of his career, he has tried more than 250 cases.
He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including induction into the American College of Trial Lawyers, held leadership positions in the local and state bar associations, received numerous selections as Special Prosecutor, and an appointment by former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice, William H. Rehnquist, to the Magistrate Judge Education Advisory Committee of the Federal Judicial Center.
While a talented litigator, Frank’s passion is teaching and developing young professionals. He has presented and lectured across Michigan to educational, charitable and legal organizations, including adjunct professorships at both Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and Michigan State University College of Law. He retired from his practice at Foster Swift in 2018.
