State Bar awards Elizabeth Bransdorfer with legal education honor
Mika Meyers attorney Elizabeth K. Bransdorfer was recently awarded the Blaine B. Johnson, Jr. Award by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. This award was created after Blaine Johnson Jr. died, to recognize outstanding contributions to continuing legal education. The guidelines for this award direct that the individual epitomize Blaine’s dedication to his fellow attorneys and that they have made long-term, significant contributions to continuing legal education in Michigan.
Bransdorfer specializes in divorce and family law using mediation and collaborative practice, as well as traditional litigation and arbitration. She represented the 17th Circuit on the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly from 2014-2016. She has served as Treasurer of the Grand Rapids Bar Association and Chair of the GRBA ADR Section, as well as Chair of the Gerald R. Ford Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
Bransdorfer is also a past president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM) from 1994-95, and the National Association of Women Lawyers 2001-02; and was honored as the WLAM Western Region Outstanding Member in 2015. Bransdorfer has been recognized for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America and was named by Best Lawyers as “Grand Rapids’ 2018 Collaborative Law: Family Law Lawyer of the Year” based on peer reviews. Bransdorfer was selected for inclusion in Grand Rapids Magazine’s 2019 Top Lawyers, as well as named one of the 20 Women in the Law 2011 by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. She received the 2009 Michael S. Barnes Award from Legal Aid of West Michigan for her pro bono work.
Bransdorfer attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate degree, and received her J.D. (cum laude) from the Law School there.
Founded in 1950, Mika Meyers is a statewide full-service law firm headquartered in downtown Grand Rapids with offices in Rockford, Caledonia and Manistee.
