WMU-Cooley Law School is helping the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with its Toys for Tots mission this holiday season. The law school, in partnership with the Home Builders Association of Greater Lansing and Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan, set up a donation collection area in the lobby of its Lansing campus for unwrapped toys and books. Members of the Lansing-area Marine Corps Reserve picked up the donated items at WMU-Cooley on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks, the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program continues to grow each year with nearly 30,000 donated gifts since 2013.
