Members of the legal community in macomb county joined forces with local officials and businesses to offer a holiday dinner to veterans, the homeless and others in the community who might need a helping hand. The Christmas Eve day event drew hundreds of people of all ages to The Rec Bowl in Mount Clemens. Judges from Macomb County Circuit Court and members of county district court benches were among those helping serve a menu that consisted of turkey, ham, coney dogs, pizza, mashed potatoes, corn, corn bread and pie. Attorney Steve Steinhardt, who organized the three-hour event, said he was thrilled with the turnout and pleased that so many businesses and members of the community stepped up to help in one way or another. Along with volunteering and helping organize the event, some two dozen attorneys contributed to cover the costs. Steinhardt said plans were in the works to make the dinner an annual event.
