Businesses are invited to donate gift certificates or items for a gift basket for a Silent Auction at a “Soup’s On For Seniors” event set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at the New American 1 Credit Union Event Center, Keeley Park, 200 W. Ganson Street, Jackson.
Items are needed by March 6 and can be brought to Jackson County Department on Aging, 1715 Lansing Avenue, #672, Jackson. Office hours are 8-5, weekdays. Contact Angie Duckham at 517-768-2075 or aduckham@mijackson.org.
Soup’s On for Seniors is a campaign by Friends of Jackson Seniors to support Meals on Wheels. Attendees will sample soup provided by local restaurants, including Bone Island Grille, Grand River Brewery, Kibby Cobb Deli, One North Kitchen & Bar, Rocky Top Beer-BBQ & Grill, Steve’s Ranch, The Crazy Cowboy, Veritas, and Vito’s Espresso.
They will also enjoy music by Matt Walch, with wine and beer available for purchase, and a silent auction.
The first 120 attendees will receive a souvenir soup bowl.
The pre-event price is $30 one person, $50 for two; $35 per person on event day.
