Pearson elected president of Rhoades McKee executive committee
Anthony Pearson has been elected to serve as President on the Executive Committee at Rhoades McKee.
Grand Rapids’ fourth largest law firm, Rhoades McKee provides transactional and litigation legal services to corporate institutions and family run businesses, as well as individuals with family legal issues. As a member of the Executive Committee, Pearson joins the current leadership, Patrick Drueke and Suanne Watt Stay, together guiding the firm’s strategic planning and managing a team of more than 90 attorneys and staff serving clients in the West Michigan community. He will serve a three - year term.
According to Pearson, “Since I moved from Minnesota to Michigan to join Rhoades McKee as an Associate back in 1999, there has been so much change and growth in Grand Rapids, in the practice of law, and even in our firm. But one of the things that first attracted me to the firm remains a constant 20 years later: our commitment to work hard together to provide great client service in our community, regardless of how we may need to adapt over time in a changing environment. We follow great firm leaders that established this character for our firm and those leaders remain terrific role models and mentors to help us maintain that character, even as we grow and innovate.”
In the last six years, Rhoades McKee has added 13 additional attorneys, relocated the office to the Riverfront Plaza at 55 Campau Avenue, expanded services with two additional offices (Holland and Hastings), and created three new specialized practice teams to respond to market factors.
A business and corporate attorney, Pearson advises closely held businesses on the laws that make up the challenging legal landscape (like the Internal Revenue Code, Michigan’s Limited Liability Com-
pany Act, and Uniform Commercial Code) and counsels businesses and business owners through the legal issues arising throughout the life cycle of the business. A contributor to the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, he plans and presents numerous seminars on business law topics including business formation, terms and conditions of sale, buying and selling a business and intellectual property issues to professional organizations.
Pearson is a current member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan. He has served in many West Michigan community and professional associations in leadership roles and has most recently served as the Past President of the Rotary International Club of Lowell.
He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and Valparaiso University School of Law.
