The Center for Family Health has been recognized by the National Association of Community Health Centers for outstanding advocacy on behalf of affordable health care.
CFH was named an Advocacy Center of Excellence (ACE) at the gold level, the highest level possible. The award was announced in January by the national association.
The ACE award goes to health centers that meet several criteria to create a culture of advocacy. This commitment to advocacy ensures that policy makers at all levels of government commit to investing in affordable, accessible, and innovative care that health centers deliver at 11,000 sites across the nation, including the Center for Family Health.
“Advocacy is an important part of the Center's mission,” said Terry Langston, Director of Communications and Advocacy. “We are proud to spread the word that health centers play a vital role in protecting and promoting our nation's good health.
“Health centers provide comprehensive care to 28 million patients in every state and territory. By making sure that under-served populations have access to high-quality primary and preventative care, health centers save the health care system $24 billion a year in reduced emergency, hospital, and specialty care costs. It's an investment that pays off in both good health and lower costs.”
