Matthew Jane joins Pear Sperling Eggan & Daniels, P.C.
The Ann Arbor law firm of Pear Sperling Eggan & Daniels P.C. (PSED), one of the oldest law firms in Washtenaw County, recently hired attorney Matthew Jane, who focuses his practice in commercial litigation, construction law and real estate matters.
Jane has extensive experience handling high exposure, complex litigation and has served as outside counsel for several companies.
In construction and real estate litigation matters, his clients have included owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
A graduate of the University of Michigan and University of Michigan Law School, Jane has spent almost his entire career in Ann Arbor.
He is a past president of the Washtenaw County Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor.
He also volunteers as a mock trial judge for students at the law school and has been recognized by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan for his pro bono work.
Prior to joining the firm, Jane represented the Michigan Department of Transportation in numerous condemnation cases relating to the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
Nicholas Nahorski joins Smith Haughey in Ann Arbor
Attorney Nicholas Nahorski has joined the Ann Arbor office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge as senior counsel, bringing experience to the Medical Malpractice Group.
Nahorski has defended solo practitioners, medical practice groups, community hospitals and clinics, and large health systems against claims of medical malpractice throughout Michigan.
He has represented clients in diverse areas of medicine, from general and family practitioners to orthopedic and vascular surgeons. He works closely with the client to develop an understanding of the underlying medicine and to conduct a detailed case assessment to determine whether settlement or trial is best for the client.
He also defends pharmacies and pharmacists in state licensure matters and commonly advises pharmacists as to compliance with state and federal rules and regulations. In addition, he brings significant appellate experience to the Ann Arbor office.
Nahorski is active in the community and serves in various charitable volunteer and nonprofit advisory roles, including his church congregation, which supports the work of charities that provide free medical care, dental care, and meals to families in need throughout the Ann Arbor area.
Nahorski and his wife Natalie enjoy spending time with their children and traveling throughout Michigan. He also enjoys music and deep diving into the world of mechanical and automatic watches.
Joseph Morrison is among Bodman’s new members
Joseph R. Morrison, Jr., Donovan S. Asmar, Julia C. Massaro, and Christine L. Phillips have been admitted as members of Bodman PLC.
Morrison practices in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office and is a member of the Business, Emerging Companies and Venture Capital, Data Privacy and Security, and Intellectual Property practice groups.
He represents venture-backable and traditional high-growth companies in an outside general counsel capacity.
He also represents high net worth individuals who invest in or actively manage angel or alternative investments.
Morrison is active in the Ann Arbor startup community and regularly presents to student and local startup groups and University of Michigan classes on legal issues facing young, high growth companies..
He was listed as one of the Michigan Rising Stars for corporate law in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
He serves on the board of directors of New Enterprise Forum in Ann Arbor.
He is a member of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) Business Law Advisory Board and New Lawyers Advisory Board.
